Filing extension of German Tax Return

In general, the deadline for filing a tax return is the 31st July of the following year. If a tax advisor represents you, the deadline is extended generally until the following year so that you have more time to submit the German tax return. In case of missing this deadline, the tax authorities can assess a late penalty.
